Changes are coming.....

We have big news in our household. And no I am not pregnant. Danny got a new job!!!! We are all excited! It took us a while to make this decision. Since Danny and I have been married he has had two jobs. He loved working at Woody Anderson, especially his coworkers. Then Joe Hudson's called and it took a little while to make the decision for him to decide whether or not to take the job. In the end he left and went to Joe Hudson's. And while Joe Hudson's has been very good to both of us, another opportunity came along. So Jan. 4th Danny will start working for Allstate Insurance as a claims adjuster. This was a very hard decision for him to make. And in the end it came down to benefits and not money. When you are single, you don't worry as much about insurance as when you have kids. So the decision came down to benefits, retirement, and our future.

We are so excited about this new journey. While I may have to go find a little part-time job for spending money, Danny will have more time with us. Just the vacation time was worth him taking this job. I am so proud of him!!! He has worked hard to get this opportunity and I know that they just obtained a very hardworking employee.

And the Winner Is.....???

This is Austin and Tommy's winning gingerbread house for Scouts. I think they did a wonderful job. It only took about 3 evenings and 4 gingerbread kits to create this house. They were so happy when their house won. Of course, so were the parents.
I hope everyone is enjoying this Holiday Season. I know we are looking forward to Christmas this year.

The Bullets (our soccer team) had there award's banquet on Sunday December 6th at McDonald's. We needed somewhere that we could meet, mingle, and make it quick. We wanted to have it at the local ice cream shop but they closed early due to sickness. So we met at McDonalds and had a great time seeing the players for a little while. Danny had a great group of little boys, and we are so excited that most of them will return next year.

The Bullets won first place in the U6 division in the EMCRA league. The boys were all so excited to get their medals and trophies. Here are some pics of our sweet boys.

Addyson's First Traumatizing Dr. Visit

Monday night I put Addyson down to sleep in her bed and she was fine. Well a few hours later she woke up crying (not like her at all). She was stuffy and congested, so I used the nasal syringe and I rocked her back to sleep. After two more times up, she started running a fever and got in bed with us. Yesterday morning I went ahead and called Dr. Patz and scheduled her and appt. Of course they couldn't see her till the afternoon, and Danny couldn't go with me because his boss is out sick. The nasal syringe was our best friend yesterday and she officially dislikes it now. So off to the doctor we go, and thank goodness brother stayed with grandma. When we got there we did the normal weigh in (16lb 10 oz). Then Dr. Patz swabbed her for the flu and he had them check her blood count. It took forever to get blood and she screamed the whole time. I felt so bad for her and finally got her calmed down with a bottle. Then Dr. Patz comes in and says that her white blood count was elevated a little and he wanted to do another test, then he informs me he wants to catheterize her to check her urine. I was so scared and unhappy (I know how bad it hurts on an adult). So then two nurses come in, and I get her undressed. She screamed the whole time and it seemed like it took forever. I was so thankful when they finished and I could just hold her. I was thankful that he was being precautious, but I didn't want my baby to go thru that.

After all the tests were done, Dr. Patz said her urine was fine. So for now he is treating it like it is viral. No antibiotics, just tylenol and love from Mommy. I am thankful that Addyson is so young that she want remember that trip the the Peds office. After we got home, I ran her a bath and let her play in it for a little while. I finally got her temp down for a little while and she played on her pallet. I think she has a sinus infection today so I am going to give them a call. She did sleep a little better last night, and hopefully tonight will be a little better.

Addyson is Six Months Old

Addyson (aka Addy or Addybell) turned 6 months old on November 23rd. And what better way to celebrate than by visiting the dr.'s office. She weighed 16 lbs 3 ozs and was 27.3 in long. She also got her vaccines and her first dose of the H1N1 vaccine. Dr. Patz says she is perfect, of course we couldn't agree more. She ran a fever and was a little fussy for a few days after these shots. The dr. says she is in the 90th percentile for height, definately not looking like she will be short. She was in the 50th percentile for weight. He told us we could begin introducing baby food. He also told us that reading was the best thing we can do with our baby at this age, which she already loved to do. Especially when brothers read to her.

Addyson wears 6-9 month clothes. She wears size 2 diapers. Addyson eats 6 oz bottle every 5-6 hours. And she eats cereal by spoon at least once a day. She loves eating by spoon!!! But feeding schedule is going to change yet again since we will be introducing food.

Addyson almost has 2 teeth (they are almost thru). She scoots around the living room (and has made it to the kitchen), she rolls over both ways (which makes diaper changing/clothes changing a challenge), she gets up on all fours and rocks, she babbles, and she is trying hard to sit up.

These first six months have been amazing to share with our baby girl. I am thankful that I get to spend most days with her, and that I am not missing all of the firsts. We love that she has two big brothers that adore her and love spending time with her. Addyson has definately blessed our family with more love and joy. We all enjoy watching her grow and learn. I just wish it would slow down just a little. I don't want her to grow up too fast

I finally got a camera, so I will update pics soon!!! Just got to find the time.

Trenton's Friendship Soup Story

Last week Trenton's class made Friendship soup for lunch. Trenton had to bring in tomato paste. That afternoon when he got home, Deborah (my mother in-law, aka Beelah) & I were sitting and talking to him about the soup. I was asking him if they all got to add in there ingredients in the soup and he told me that he added in the vegetables. Well Deborah asked him how they cooked the soup. He simply replied, "They cooked it in the crotchpot."

So there you have it. After we quit laughing we explained to him that it was a crockpot. Kids truly will say the funniest things!
